What is CS Rating in CS2?
CS Rating is the skill number you earn in Premier, Counter-Strike 2’s main competitive mode. Many players call it Premier Rating; it is the same thing. It goes up when you win and down when you lose, it is shown in a color that marks your level, and it places you on regional and global leaderboards each season.
Premier and CS Rating
Premier is the CS2 mode where teams play a pick-and-ban map veto over the active map pool. Your result there feeds a single CS Rating for the whole mode. Premier requires Prime status.
Your rating stays hidden until you have ten Premier wins. Losses before that still count toward your calibration, but only wins unlock the number.
How the rating changes
After each match the number moves according to the result and the ratings of both teams. Beating a team rated above yours pays more than beating a weaker one, and losing as the favorite costs more.

Seasons and leaderboards
Premier runs in seasons. Each season has regional and world leaderboards, and a new season recalibrates ratings, so you need to prove your level again.
CS Rating vs. map ranks and FACEIT

- [FACEIT Elo](term:faceit-elo) belongs to a third-party platform with its own servers and anti-cheat. Neither affects your CS Rating.
